Thoughts on the world, homeopathy, mindfulness and food...

As a person who had been conscious of this for years (or maybe concerned is a better word than conscious), it was a revelation to me to realise that what 'they' think really isn't my business. If I go out there with my best intention it's ok if that wasn't well received or even disliked. And I'm ok if I'm disliked. It's not even really about me whatever anyone thinks of me. Well, what a relief!! I love the part in The Fifth Agreement where Ruiz discusses going into a cinema where the film is playing our life as we perceive ourselves. Then we step into the next screen in the multiplex and see how someone else perceives us. It's entirely different to what we were working so hard to project. And another - same result. The 'me' we thought we were was totally different to who that person saw. Which begs the question of why worry? Why try to be anything other than who you really are? And when someone else thinks you're brilliant, a liar, a fantastic creator of art, a cheat, too much, too quiet, or whatever label they may wish to attach to you, it can only ever really show where they're at in that understanding. Not to say we are all perfect, all but I'd guess, but being content in our imperfection, striving to live with authenticity, they'll do for me as goals for now. And yes, I fail at it, but I get more aware each time. Be skeptical but learn to listen. With love and light, Em xx My recent reading list of David Hamilton's It's the thought that counts, Tony Wright's Left in the Dark, A Course in Miracles (or for an introduction to that, Marianne Williamson's Return to Love) are all books I'd recommend if you're in the market for a new read. And of course, The Four Agreements and The Fifth Agreements (I like them best on CD personally as the audio book).
