My story
My first experience of Homeopathy for was in 1995 when our family horse was treated for a conventionally 'incurable' and recurrent eye disease. After a 5 day course of a single remedy, it never recurred.
Whilst undertaking my BSc (Hons) in Psychology and Neuroscience I also gained a Diploma in Reflexology and my 1st Degree in Reiki. Following some time out travelling I returned and began to study Homeopathy at the North West College of Homeopathy in Manchester where I completed my training in July 2007. During my studies I had my beautiful daughter who has benefited from Homeopathic treatment from birth.
Headaches and migraines had always been my 'thing' and I'm so happy to say that I very rarely experience either having treated them with homeopathy. For me it wasn't a quick fix but the journey was so worthwhile - and I love to be able to pay it forward and treat people who have never envisaged a life free of discomfort (on a physical, emotional or mental level) realise their health freedom too.
I've currently moved my practice online during the Covid-19 measures, and am consulting via a range of video platforms. Despite loving working face to face with people, this is working really well.
When not working I can be found experimenting with food, reading, travelling, having fun with my daughter or playing out in the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside - often barefoot running, cycling and open water swimming in various wild locations. I've also recently fallen in love with paddle boarding and am now seeking every opportunity to get on the board!
Some people like to just read a little about me so they've a flavour of who I am, in which case you've got a summary above. If you'd like to know more about my training (I always do) then carry on down the page.
In 2012 I became increasingly interested by foods and nutrition and studied diplomas in nutrition and kinesiology. I added to this in the summer of 2013 and studied the course that T. Colin Campbell set up with eCornell University - a certificate in whole food, plant based nutrition. I also offer food intolerance tests using kinesiology and also work with food where appropriate in assisting the health process. I feel this area is so fundamental to our overall health and wellbeing. Personally, I am passionate about the benefits of a whole food, plant based lifestyle.
In April 2013 I graduated from the Dynamis School of Advanced Homoeopathic Studies after a 2 year post-graduate course studying with Jeremy Sherr. I do love studying and have also spent considerable time learning with Jackie McTaggart around the remedies from the periodic table.
2014 saw me accredited in the focussed mindfulness work that Clare Walters from Absolute Specialists trains people in as well as works with and in 2015 qualified from her supervisor training program. I offer person centred supervision for practitioners in the field of homeopathy as well as other holistic professions if desired.
I've always had an interest, though had previously known it wasn't my time yet, to look more at the sensation homeopathy work originally pioneered by Dr Rajan Sankaran, and in 2018 started studying with the Evolving Sensation group, following the work of Drs Bhawisha and Shachindra Joshi which has been incredibly helpful for my work. In fact, if you're a student homeopath reading this - all the courses I mention in homeopathy have been invaluable. I completed the second year of the course in 2020 and continue to see it have a positive influence on my practice.
As you might have gathered from the above, I am a keen student as well as passionate practitioner of homeopathy. I haven't found anything as intriguing as this, and, matched well to the person, a homeopathic medicine can have effects I've not seen the like of before. I am curious to learn more and continue to enhance how I work so I can help in the therapeutic relationship.
I am registered with the Alliance of Registered Homeopaths which represents professional homeopaths in the UK and Europe, and abide by their Code of Ethics and Practice.
