First run as the Find Your Happy course, The Happiness Sessions will focus on practical tools for increasing our day to day levels of happiness.
As with anything I share, group talks, sessions, practical teaching, I feel that I am not here to lecture, but to walk alongside, explore and hold space in the sessions.

The Happiness Sessions - four evenings in October (6th, 13th, 20th and 27th) from 7-8.30pm. I loved running this back in June and am looking forward to taking a group through sessions on the theory and practical ideas shared. We look in more depth at happiness, gratitude, self compassion and acceptance and commitment training (sounds complex but honestly it’s brilliant and not complicated at all).
Each week we focus on a different topic and in these four weeks we cover:
My aim is we'll be leaving the sessions each week, eager to try out the techniques and having practical tools to implement in our lives, from session one onwards.

Feedback from the Happiness Sessions...
June 2022 - Find Your Happy course
"Such a kind approach, modelling compassion, and making and holding space, Em lead us through a huge array of ideas, theories, tools and techniques. Interwoven with meditations, a chance for discussion and reflection, helpful visual support, and embodying exercises, and practical steps I could try using straight away. I found the sessions accessible and extremely helpful. So much there to go exploring, thank you!
You're a wonderful course holder Em, thank you xxx
PS can you do some more sessions on compassion?"
They're here if you're interested.
I had a few queries on how the courses in general run, hence taking a moment to answer them here in case others had questions.
Everything is on Zoom, and I send the link and login details the day before to you. You may need to download Zoom if you’ve not used it before.
It’s all fairly relaxed, with set topics each week and time to explore further, or ask questions as we go through the sessions. I have a presentation that I share and we move between a screen share so everyone can see this clearly, to using the technology so we can see all the people in the room.
The sessions all run from 7pm - 8.30pm. I try and keep to time although am not militant about it, if we need to run over a little bit because we’re having interesting discussions I’m open to that too. I’d do it with consensus from the group so if it’s not OK that evening, that’s OK too.
If you’re not a natural sharer, you won’t have to divulge your life story. You don’t even have to have your camera on if you’d rather not.
I’m a big fan of keeping things simple. I am also intrigued by research into the areas that I share with people as well as philosophies and theories, so we share both of these as we move through the sessions. I think if we understand why we do something and why something can help, we’re more likely to use it and be compassionate to ourselves.
There are exercises that we do throughout the sessions and I also recommend some play with the ideas away from the sessions. The action is where the magic is at. We can learn all the theories in the world but if we don’t take action we remain knowing but not always growing.
