I hope it goes without saying, but it never hurts to be clear:
These are NOT descriptions that fit all homeopaths. Some will resonate with none of it. Others LOVE the descriptions. If the cap fits then please enjoy! Years ago my lovely sister kindly bought me a mug and a t-shirt with similar words on it, in a very different design, and they really resonated with me. Then someone pointed out the mis-use of the symbol for healing on it and that sent me on a quest... |
... to understand the one that had been used (the Caduceus) and the symbol for healing (The Rod of Aesculapius). After that, I created a simple version of my own and enjoyed using them both. Sharing it recently on The Joy of Homeopathy instagram page several people reponded with 'I need this mug' and the like, and so thanks to creative input from graphic designer Lel, this version was born.
I have no doubt were the witch trials on now, homeopaths and other complementary and alternative medical pracitioners would be amongst those persecuted. Witches, perhaps contrary to Roald Dahl books and Halloween outfits, were historically healers, often older women using natural medicines, herbs and the likes from the world around them. Which certain people of power disliked. Witches go beyond that for me, to having family who lived near the foot of Pendle Hill (which was a significant area in witch trial times). The working with nature, healing energy and at times swimming against the flow - much of that resonates strongly with me.
