Juices
Juicy start
This is my favourite start to the day. I like to get up, have a pint of water before I do much else (filtered using my Pi-mag filter system), then once I'm into the kitchen love to have this juice or a slight variation on it and potter about sorting the morning jobs (breakfasts, packed lunches, washing up, washing etc), grab a hot water and lemon then think towards my breakfast proper around 9ish.
This is as tasty as it is easy to make:
1/2 cucumber
1 apple
1 stick of celery
1/2 lemon (skin on if organic)
1 inch of ginger.
Pop it all through the juicer and enjoy. I also like to add in a beetroot which gives a beautiful rich colour that I know is doing me good.

Thanks for checking out my juices page - I've made it to share a little information on my take on juicing and juices.
There's so much to share and I'm not planning to do it all - just a taster (no pun intended) really. If you're local to me I love to run Juicing and Smoothie sessions so feel free to get in touch about the next one or give me a shout and we can get something in the diary.
I think juicing can be a great way to get organic, pure water into our systems (depending, of course on what you're juicing and where it came from). It's also brilliant if you're trying to give your digestive system less work to do - a light way to get nutrients in without the heavy work of breaking down the fibres to access them.
Inspired by juices I'd made for a client on the photo at the top, I thought I'd share some really simple recipes here. Some are so simple they're one ingredient, others are more complex. All are delicious.
Orange juice
5 oranges
Peel and pop through the juicer. So different from having it from a carton!
Carrots
6-8 carrots.
Make sure there's no mud and if you like you can top and tail them. Juice.
Add a little ginger (an inch) /lemon (1/2) /lime (1/2) for a more zesty carrot goodness.
Pineapple
Be prepared for something totally different. If you've never had freshly juiced pineapple you're in for an absolute treat.
1/2 pineapple
Remove the skin. Juice. Divine. Savour.
Carrot and Beet
1/2 beetroot
6-8 carrots
Push all ingredients through the juicer. A gorgeous coloured, vibrant juice. (The red one on the far right).
Optional lemon/ginger/lime to give a more zesty kick to your juice.
Pineapple, lime, ginger, carrot, turmeric and beet
1 pineapple
1 lime
6 carrots
1 inch each of ginger and turmeric
1 beetroot
Remove the pineapple skin and juice. Sandwich the ginger and turmeric between other ingredients - and watch out for getting it on your hands - they'll go yellow from the turmeric!
Green Juice
So many variations of this but here's a couple of suggestions:
2 apples
1/4 cucumber
large handful spinach
stick of celery
1/3 lemon or 1/4 lime
Juice all ingredients. Sandwich the lemon or lime and the spinach between apples if using a centrifugal juicer.
2 apples
1/4 pineapple
1/4 lime
handful spinach
1/4 cucumber
Juice everything. As above, pack the spinach between the apples and you'll get a greater yield if you're using a centrifugal juicer.
1 pear
1/4 pineapple
handful kale
1/2 lemon
Optional ginger (an inch or so) for a bit more of a kick.
2 apples
Spinach
1/2 lemon
1/2 cucumber
Sandwich the spinach between other ingredients and juice. This juice has a gorgeous fresh colour - you can see and taste the goodness in it!
Breakfast Juice
This is a firm favourite on my workshops - everyone loves it.
2 apples
1/3 lemon
1 carrot
1 satsuma/small orange
Pop the orange (peeled) and lemon (leave the skin on if it's organic) between the apples and juice everything.
Apple Zinger
2 apples
5mm ginger
1/3 lemon
Sandwich the ginger and lemon between the apples and push through juicer. Instant zing!
Zingy Beet Juice
1 orange
1 beetroot
1 inch ginger
Peel the orange (leaving on pith where possible), juice them all and enjoy the bright red goodness.

I think there's so much joy to be gained from the natural colours, tastes, textures and more through juicing - experiment and play! Use these as starter ideas and do your own thing too. Jason Vale's website/app/books has loads of fabulous recipes, as well as programs you can do (3, 5, 7, 14 and 28 days of juicing should you feel the need or desire to do that. There's many other juice goddesses and gods out there and no reason why you can't be one too.
Go forth, juice and be full of joy x
