Raw Ice Cream
I have no idea how there was not a recipe on for this (there's one on the blog for summer ice cream but it may be a way back - if you want to make that one then click on the ice cream tag at the side and it should find it for you). So, realising my error, here I am. With no pictures at this stage it's a bare, back to the bones recipe. But trust me, you'll wonder how you never knew you never knew.
Ingredients:
Bananas
Method:
Peel and chop bananas into 1/2-1inch chunks. Place in container and freeze for at least 6 hours.
Remove from freezer and process or blend in high powered blender until smooth.
Eat.
It may be you need to allow the bananas to thaw a little before you blend them - I tend to be pretty impatient but as I've a Vitamix it's OK and cruises through them just fine. A 10 minute or so sit on the side before creating the ice cream may be just what you need to be kind to the blender/processor. Or you can add a non-frozen banana or 1/2 a cup of non-dairy milk.
And to jazz it up a bit, you can add vanilla seeds from the pod, vanilla essence, frozen fruits or cacao powder. Or just enjoy its naked banana goodness.
