Nutrition
Our diet can have huge implications on how we feel about ourselves – how our bodies function and on our physical and emotional health. Working with a variety of tools I am able to assist clients to make simple, lasting changes which can have very positive effects on their wellbeing. I know that there are better nutritionalists out there than me. My qualifications are basic and whilst I'm read well in the areas of plant based nutrition and I'm good at directing you to find out more, if you want a step by step process, and want more food based nutritional support then I'm happy to direct you to others.
What I do offer is some food based awareness and help starting to make positive changes alongside the homeopathy sessions I provide where this is wanted or needed. Homeopathy is my big love and what makes my heart sing, but where there are blocks in this area it's also great to be able to help if I can.
One to One Juicing/Smoothie Sessions
Based on the group workshop I run, I will come to your home for a one to one (or you can invite a friend or two) session on how to incorporate juicing and smoothie making into your life and diet. I can work with your kitchen equipment or bring my own and I guarantee you'll feel far more confident in how to get going and started adding some serious goodness into your daily routine.
Food Intolerance Testing
I use muscle testing/kinesiology to assess 120 different foods/substances and am able to give recommendations based on the results of the test around potential dietary changes. Kinesiology – the study of mechanics of body movements is probably best known for its use in testing for food sensitivities and it’s this that I use it mostly for. It’s non invasive (so no needles!) and using this system I am able to test anyone from tiny babies through to the very elderly. Anyone can benefit!
However healthy a diet may appear to be, should those ‘healthy’ foods disagree with you as an individual, they won’t be serving you well and it will be difficult to function at your best.
I enjoy being able to support clients through making these changes and can recommend books, share recipes, give suggestions and also offer workshops to discover more.
Food plans
Often people can find making dietary changes difficult and I know that when I’ve adjusted how I eat it has been great to have had support from others. I love helping clients to create plant based versions of meals, increase the amount of raw foods in their diets or simply to be able to work together to create lasting changes.
I regularly post recipes on the site here and also sometimes share in the blog.
Plant based
I currently eat a plant based diet which makes sense to me for many reasons. Initially it was from a health point of view having read The China Study. Yes I know there are those who dispute it but it made far more sense to me than most books looking at the serious business of what we put on our plates. From there followed Forks Over Knives (there's also a film if you're not a reader) and many more. Now it makes sense from a health for our animals (I've never seen one lining up to be killed, in fact quite the opposite, my dogs (who are apparently less intelligent than pigs, albeit pretty clever) would run a mile) and for our planet. I also (in general - ha I'm running around running a business, being a single parent and the rest...) feel to have more energy and am generally healthier and happier doing this. Win-win. I've experimented with eating raw foods and did 6 months eating fully raw which I loved doing.
‘Emma is an inspiration. She has single handedly opened her kitchen and heart to a raw vegan diet. Not only has she forged this new path but by giving me tastes along the way, she has also made my home much more fruit and veg-full and friendly. My family are having a salad for tea once a week. We regularly have smoothies full of fresh goodness and nothing processed. We all love it, feel better and healthier. She really helps you figure out the how to get started, why increasing your fruit and veg is such a brilliant idea, and how easy and yummy it all is. I cannot recommend her and her workshops enough!’
