Thoughts on the world, homeopathy, mindfulness and food...

I'm really intrigued now. After my 20 year personal involvement in homeopathy during which time I've seen painful periods disappear, emotional and mental complaints melt away, headaches and migraines diminish to next to none, gastric upsets clear rapidly, bruising and tendon strain resolve in unexpected time, childbirth helped, labour kick started, and more, I've also witnessed countless fascinating cases as a homeopath. These range from kids no longer feeling bad about school and that 'tummy ache' pre-school disappearing, resolution of life long headaches, hayfever which had been suffered for years cleared up, depression eased, a lifetime of headaches (read the testimonials on my page for my most dramatic case here) resolved, pre-menstrual issues eased, menopausal issues eased and again so much more. So there is no doubt for me homeopathy works. If I match the ailment, symptoms and persons characteristic way of being with a well selected remedy then the client is likely to return and report change in a positive direction. Of course, proof is in the pudding and I don't always get there first time, at times it can be a process of uncovering more, making sense of things fully for both myself and them. And how arrogant would I be to think that in that first 2 hours I can fully understand everything about a person?! Although I will (and do always) try my best!! So, I digress from the point I'm most fascinated by this morning, what intrigues me at the moment with all this negative homeopathy press is what people think who've never heard about it before. If there wasn't something in it why would it survive 200+ years, through all the attacks (and this is by no means the first). The suppression of the feminine, a gentler way of being, of healing predates homeopathy and has equally gone on for years. But if it really doesn't work why are we still about?! It's certainly not for the money, the fame, the glory! I believe it's because we are so privileged to see people return to health a step at a time, often reach a different level of awareness about themselves and the world around them. And, fundamentally, so often get better. And if your health has suffered for years using the conventional system surely the greater publicity and denial of homeopathy (largely led by small groups and frequently, in the past anyway, big pharma funded) would be intriguing? Does 'the lady', the media machine of the popular press 'protest too much'? Methinks it may be so. Speaking from experience, my practice is as busy as it's been. I'm happy to see more people discovering homeopathy and so happy to be able to see what it can do to help.
