Thoughts on the world, homeopathy, mindfulness and food...

Well I guess I have to define impossible here first. So many points here fit. Paradoxical meaning contradictory, self-contradictory, inconsistent, incongruous, anomalous, conflicting;
improbable, impossible, odd, illogical, confusing, absurd, puzzling, baffling, bewildering, incomprehensible, inexplicable; Anomalous it may be, conflicting with other's beliefs. Odd. Confusing, puzzling, baffling, bewildering, incomprehensible and yes, perhaps inexplicable. And that's just to take one word out of the above definition of impossible. It is so many of those words, this work I do. Perhaps it's impossible to effect change using homeopathy. And yet it seems not. And, for placebo fans, goodness - I wish all my work was that simple - just to tell someone that this thing would get them better and they get better... not to scratch my head when a seemingly well prescribed remedy didn't have the response I (and they so badly) desired. Back to the books. And sometimes again. And yet when that response happens, it's like nothing else. Beyond a 'little placebo' to help depression, reduce anxiety, make them feel OK. People return stating how they've never felt so well, they feel 'like themselves' again, energy improved, zest for life back, aches and pains so often gone. For some, more exciting than seeing clients tell you they're getting better, is seeing the effects of highly diluted substances (i.e. homeopathic medicines) have effects seen via plants, nuclear magnetic resonance imaging and other methods of observation. Hearing up to date research on the extra cellular membrane at the Vets conference recently, and reading the possibilities that it may be via this that homeopathy may act - to go as far as to alter gene expression, is surely exciting to most of us? It's OK to say I'm just a science geek and you're not excited by it if not! So even if I went with the animals are subject to placebo effect, babies and the unconscious, I struggle with cancer cells in a petri dish. And, if we're taking it that far that they are open to placebo, then I struggle with the 'fact' that homeopathy is impossible. Misunderstood perhaps. But clearly (to so many) happening nonetheless. Would that possibly be why the noise is so loud to try and drown it out?!
