Homeopathy Supervision Course
Supervision Matters
1:1 sessions online from 2026

'An insightful course delivered with passion and care. The 1:1 setting means it is perfectly tailored for each person’s own level and pace. The content introduced me to new ways of looking at things, encouraging youthful curiosity, while acting as a reminder of the solemn responsibility that comes with the role of supervisor to hold space for the case as well as the supervisee.

10/10 would recommend to anyone wanting to level up their supervision skills/qualification.'

I loved Em's gentle, guiding approach to supervision and also the very professional information, slides and reading lists. I found Em very supportive of my thoughts and comments and I appreciated the challenging in areas that needed a bit more exploration.

I would highly recommed Em if you're considering supervision.

Em has such a wealth of knowledge and experience and is such an encouraging, thoughtful teacher. This course was simply delightful, hugely enjoyable and has given me the knowledge and confidence to develop as a competent supervisor.

Highly recommend for any one wishing to develop as a supervisor.

Em is a wonderful teacher, she's clear, organised and very knowledgeable. She's put a lot of work into the course and I've absolutely loved being able to learn about the role of supervision in a homeopathic way, with the use of structured models but in a flexible and reflective way.

I highly recommend anyone thinking of supervising to do this course with Em.

Supervision Matters - A Homeopathic Approach to Supervision

The course runs as three 90 minute-2 hour 1:1 sessions online via Zoom.

There is a space of around 4-6 weeks between the sessions (which can be adapted to suit you).

The second and third sessions can be booked in once we've spoken at the first meeting, or arranged from the start.

Do let me know if you're interested, I'll get the Supervision Matters registration forms and ethos/outcomes
documents over to you and if you want to chat through any questions I'm more than happy to.

With thanks to Sheila Ryan who developed the homeopathic approach to supervision.
Supervision Matters is an adaptation of her Sea Change - School of Homeopathy Supervision Course. www.seachangeuk.com

About me and supervision...

Supervision has always been important to me and I've engaged with it from graduation as a homeopath onwards. I have heard what we do is sometimes described as a 'lonely occupation' - I don't feel that way, though I am aware that I teach and am involved at different colleges - and I've always had regular supervision. It certainly doesn't have to be lonely!

I often describe the supervision space as helping me be a better person - and of course I hope also a better practitioner. It reminds me of boundaries, to look after myself, to check in how I'm doing in the running of my practice, helps me be accountable for goals and ideas, plus lots more and of course is a safe space to take issues that are challenging me. I currently have regular 1:1 supervision and also attend a couple of different peer supervision groups.

As a student often our supervision is case based, and as we step into practice it's often a blend - with case work at times alongside personal supervision. Supervision is not just for student days!

I did my first training in supervision in 2015 with Clare Walters and Focussed Mindfulness - now The Walters Method, then did Sheila Ryan's Sea Change course and latterly have undertaken a Diploma in Clinical Supervision with Sue Pattison Training Consultancy. I am passionate about sharing supervision - both with students and practitioners, and now with those wanting more information about a homeopathic way of supervision.

The homeopathic approach to supervision was pioneered by Sheila Ryan of Sea Change and Sheila ran courses online and in person for many years. Stepping into retirement more, I was aware that Sheila was stopping running her Sea Change courses for homeopathic practitioners. Back when I was pondering over this, I'd also taken on a role as the Clinical Supervision Assessor at the School of Homeopathy (a role Sheila set up eons ago) and was aware there was going to be something missing without Sheila's course being out there.

Working with Sheila over the last year in my role at the School, but also looking at the course content and delivery, I'm excited to be running the course. November 2024 saw the launch of Supervision Matters, a course delivered in 3 parts, one to one, and online, just as Sea Change was in the later days.

Working with creating the content was challenging - how do you improve on something that works and has done for years? I chose to adapt rather than throw out and start anew and am grateful to have Sheila's blessing in launching and sharing Supervision Matters - which is adapted from her fabulous Sea Change course. It feels important to also mention that 10% of the course fee goes to a charity of Sheila's choice, a project supporting women in Ghana.
