Hello and welcome!
Hairwraps for Kindness was inspired by my love of playing with beads, fabric and threads and wanting to share random acts of kindness with, well, anyone really. The first stage was making wraps for myself, many from materials I'd had for years - some inherited from my grandma who was a pro at embroidery, tatting, lace making and lots more. Others from my mum, who was an expert knitter, crafter, (I have an amazing applique PE bag from my school days), some upcycled from elsewhere and always made with love. Stage two was sharing them with others in online dreadlock community spaces, and offering the wraps free in return for a random act of kindness (or several - that was up to the recipient to decide). Stage 3 - welcome! That's now, where I make the wraps and share with people, in return for a small donation to cover my costs of materials, postage etc, and instead of paying for my time making it, they do an act of kindness (or several - can be random or planned) for someone in the world around them. |
The acts of kindness are totally up to the receipient - I don't need to know, though I do love to hear about kindness around our crazy, amazing world so if you want to, please feel free to share with me anytime!

They bring a touch of colour and fun to dreadlocked hair, and are equally able to be fastened into loose hair; something of a festival, summer holiday, boho vibe :)

The Earthy Chakra Moon One is good to go. On a hair elastic to fasten, it’s a blend of chakra coloured embroidery threads, with a rust coloured acrylic yarn and decorated with a crystal moon, chakra beads and moon phases charm. It’s 59cm.

The Hairwraps for kindness concept is simple, but also quite different. You pay for postage and materials and then pay it forwards with an act of kindness - or more as an energy exchange for the hairwrap/s.

The acts of kindness can be anything you like… from a smile where it’s needed to buying someone breakfast, from flowers to doing something fun for yourself… I think it’s great to share outwards, but am also aware sometimes we forget about us too. Don’t forget about you!

A departure from soft hair wraps, this tube bead fits snuggly onto locks, and the dreamcatcher charm is easily detachable, so can be worn with it or the two pieces can be used separately.

The Dreamcatcher Charm

The Dreamcatcher Charm is a 10cm (top to bottom - see image) charm that can clip into, well anything really. With turquoise and wooden beads, it's a lovely little bit of joy that could be in a hairwrap, on a keyring or a part of a wall display.

Hairwraps for Kindness is run differently to the average business, it’s an experimental, non profit project. I ask for a contribution towards materials and postage, and the real energy exchange is doing an act of kindness (planned or spontaneous) in the world around the recipient of the wrap (or the buyer if that’s different - or whoever really - it’s all great!).
There are no restrictions on the kindness gift... it can anything you like (and please remember that kindness to self absolutely counts too).
