Please tightly cross - well, not just your fingers, everything!! Here's hoping the Ceilidh at Christmas will return in 2021. I'll keep you posted.
Notes from the planned event of 2020 follow so you've an idea of what it's all about!
This is the 4th time we've run the event and it's been a popular one, at times selling out. Phoenix Ceilidh describe themselves as "an experienced 4 piece band playing lively foot-tapping Irish/Scottish traditional dance music." I describe them as brilliant and would happily listen/dance to their music for hours.
Ticket prices cover the costs of the hall and the band and last year we were able to donate £185 to each of Embsay and Eastby Good Neighbours and to my friend Vicky's Hedgehog Recovery Mission/Hospital from profits and donations given on the night.
Bring food to share (veggie, vegan particularly welcome along with gluten free as I love to eat that way). But seriously, anything goes, bring something that you like to make or like to eat and that'll be great. It's BYO drinks (though there's a pub across the road if you're desperate and forget you can always nip out for a quick drink!).
The event starts 7pm and tends to run until 11pm with a break in the middle for food. Details about the hall are here.
